Ya el año pasado, durante la conferencia SpringOne de Europa, Guillaume Laforge condujo una sesión sobre las nuevas características de la versión de Groovv que se liberaba por entonces, la 1.6. Este año, del mismo modo pero en la conferencia JavaOne, se han presentado las novedades de la nueva liberación 1.7 y la futura 1.8.
