Java infrastructure developer

Job Description:

Our company develops a novel, cutting edge financial processing platform and graphical IDE. You will be part of a small team responsible for developing the runtime infrastructure into an elegant, flexible system that scales to meet huge transaction volumes. We use a long list of interesting and recent technologies (OSGi, JCR, Oracle Coherence to name a few) to achieve these goals.

Required Skills:
* A minimum of 3 years of software development experience with Java.
* Solid object-oriented design skills.
* Knowledge of XML parsing and validation.
* Familiarity with UNIX environments.
* Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and TestNG.
* Familiarity with source control systems in a shared environment.
* Proven ability to deliver high quality code.
* Excellent English communication skills.
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Bachelor's Degree in a related field with extensive work experience.

Highly desirable skills:
* Good understanding of Java concurrency.
* Knowledge of compilers and compiler technologies (ANTLR).
* Understanding of advanced Java constructs (Generics, Annotations, Java 5 concurrency libraries).
* Understanding of Java bytecode and bytecode manipulation.
* Advanced XML knowledge (XSD, namespaces, JAXB).
* OSGi.
* Tangosol Coherence.

Our development is split between New York City and Barcelona, so excellent English communication skills are essential - you must be comfortable having technical conference calls by telephone, for example.
